Onboarding Friction: KYC vs. Quick Start-Up for Small Capital

Anyone else finding the onboarding process for newer prop firms to be a bit of a moving target, especially when dealing with smaller initial capital allocations? I'm not talking about the big established names; they have their systems locked down. I'm seeing a lot of variability in the KYC/AML hoops for firms targeting, say, a $5k or $10k initial challenge. Some are super lean, almost too lean, making me question their compliance. Others are requesting extensive documentation that feels disproportionate to the capital involved, creating a barrier to entry for the exact segment they seem to be trying to attract. It's not about avoiding due diligence, it's about the efficiency and consistency of it. Curious if others have similar experiences and how they've navigated that initial friction.
