On-chain data access - anyone seeing inconsistencies with API providers?
Been diving deeper into BTC on-chain data lately, specifically around exchange flows and whale movements. I'm using a couple of different API providers to pull data, mostly for things like coin days destroyed and adjusted spent output value. What I'm noticing is a concerning level of disparity between the datasets from these different sources, particularly on what should be fairly standard metrics. It's not just minor discrepancies, we're talking about variations significant enough to skew any real-time analysis. I understand data is messy, but this feels beyond the usual lag or processing differences. Anyone else observing this? Makes me question the reliability of the underlying data infrastructure some of these providers are using, and frankly, makes it tough to build any high-conviction models.
That's a really good point. I've seen similar issues, especially with metrics that involve more complex calculations rather than just raw blockchain data. Have you tried cross-referencing with any direct node data or open-source tools to see if the discrepancy persists?
