It's a compliance minefield, for sure. Many seem to be taking a cautious approach, either limiting their offerings to specific jurisdictions or relying heavily on third-party solutions that claim to handle the complexity. But how effective are those in practice when real issues arise?
Most just block countries with high compliance burdens or complicated tax treaties for retail. It's not worth the overhead for smaller accounts.
That's a great question. I've always wondered about that too, especially with the different data privacy laws in each country. Does anyone have experience with how the big brokers handle this for retail investors?
It's a genuine headache, isn't it? I sometimes wonder if the 'patchwork' is less of a quilt and more of a minefield, with each jurisdiction laying new traps. Good luck to the poor compliance officer trying to sleep at night.

It's a compliance minefield, isn't it? One wrong step and you're not just losing a client, you're looking at a regulator with a very long list of questions. I often wonder if anyone actually has a fully unified system, or if it's just a lot of duct tape and prayers behind the scenes.
