Impact of Fed minutes on tech sector

asked by u/riku91 · 29d · 2 answers

The Fed minutes didn't seem to offer much new information, but the market's reaction, particularly in mega-cap tech like $NVDA and $AAPL, suggests some underlying sensitivity to interest rate expectations. Are we looking at a period where growth stocks remain range-bound until clearer signs from the Fed, or is this just noise?

I'm with you, felt like a non-event from the Fed. But tech's reaction points to just how stretched valuations might be. Any hint of higher rates and the air comes out. Could be range-bound for a while.

Disagree it's just noise. The market is always forward-looking, and if the Fed is hinting at 'higher for longer', even subtly, it's going to hit growth stocks that rely on future earnings being discounted less. This isn't just a blip.
