Polymarket on Fed Rate Cuts - Any edge?

asked by u/vikrammehta · 10d · 3 answers

Anyone actively trading the Fed rate cut markets on Polymarket? The implied probabilities seem to be shifting significantly day-to-day based on macro releases. Curious if anyone has found a reliable way to model the 'narrative' shifts or if it's mostly noise.

The 'narrative shifts' are the market. It's not about modeling them, but understanding what specific data points or Fed speak move the needle the most. CPI, jobs, and Powell's tone are the big ones. Anything else is usually noise around those.

Honestly, I think it's mostly noise for short-term plays. The longer-term trend for rate cuts seems clearer, but the day-to-day whipsaw on Polymarket can bleed you dry if you're not careful.

I've been watching it, but 'reliable' feels like a strong word. It's more about identifying the market's overreactions to specific data points and fading them, or riding the momentum if a clear trend emerges.
