Kalshi - Cross-Jurisdictional KYC/AML for Event Contracts?

asked by u/kavya_k · 9d · 0 answers

Been looking at Kalshi a bit more closely, and one thing that always comes to mind with newer regulated products, especially those that touch on betting-like mechanics, is the sheer complexity of KYC/AML across different jurisdictions. Given that event contracts inherently appeal to a broad demographic, how are they navigating varying local regulations regarding participation, age verification, and source of funds checks? It's not always as straightforward as traditional equities or futures.

Specifically, are there any unique challenges or solutions being implemented for those instances where a user might participate in contracts that have different regulatory interpretations from their home jurisdiction? The potential for regulatory arbitrage, even unintended, seems like a non-trivial risk without very robust controls in place.
