Question about CFD trading and leverage in a volatile market

Hey everyone, still pretty new to CFDs and I'm finding the leverage aspect a bit intimidating, especially when markets like $NDX are swinging hard. How do you guys manage your position sizing to avoid getting wiped out on a sudden spike or drop, while still trying to capture some of the move? It feels like a fine line between opportunity and oversized risk.
