Yield farming impermanent loss - how do you *really* track it?

asked by u/neha_j · 14d · 2 answers

Been dabbling in a few ETH-based farms and the concept of impermanent loss makes sense on paper, but I'm finding it surprisingly difficult to practically track in a way that feels accurate. I've used some calculators, but between gas fees, rebalancing, and shifting APRs, my P&L often feels like a moving target. For those of you actively farming, do you have a go-to method or tool for truly understanding your net returns after accounting for IL, especially when the underlying asset prices are volatile?

Honestly, you don't truly track it perfectly. It's an ongoing accounting nightmare. Most just check their current portfolio value against what they'd have if they simply held the underlying assets, and accept the difference as a cost of doing business if the farming profits outweigh it.
