VNM holding 17.00 through month-end - realistic?

Looking at $VNM, currently sitting at 17.16. We've seen a pretty consistent floor around 17.00. Given the intraday range today and the general market sentiment, I'd put the odds of it closing above 17.00 by month-end at about 65%. There's some significant support building around that level, and unless there's a major external shock, the momentum seems to be holding it above. The question is if it can gain any ground, but simply maintaining this base seems highly probable for now. The recent -2.05% drop today isn't enough to break that psychological barrier from what I'm seeing on the charts.

That's a pretty confident assessment. What makes you so sure about the 65% odds, and what 'external shock' are you most concerned about?

65% sounds like you're feeling lucky. I'd lean more towards 50/50, especially if "major external shock" includes my cat walking across the keyboard at a crucial moment. Stranger things have happened.
