Struggling with event contract sizing on Kalshi
Hey everyone, fairly new to Kalshi and still finding my feet. I've been dabbling with some of the event contracts, mostly around Fed rate decisions and economic data releases. My issue isn't so much predicting the outcome, it's more about how much I'm putting down on each one. I find myself either betting too small for it to be worth the mental effort, or too large and then I'm just watching the screen for hours, which isn't sustainable.
I'm curious how seasoned users here approach their sizing. Do you have a fixed percentage of your total 'play money' you're willing to risk per contract? Or does it vary based on your perceived probability? Any general rules of thumb you've developed over time that help you stay disciplined?
