KYC/AML for decentralized exchanges (DEXs) moving beyond just tokens

It's interesting to watch how regulators are circling around DEXs, especially with the expansion into synthetic assets and tokenized real-world assets. The traditional KYC/AML framework seems ill-suited for the pseudo-anonymous nature of many DEX interactions. How are firms operating in this space (even as liquidity providers or front-end aggregators) preparing for potential regulatory shifts? Are we seeing proactive self-governance proposals or is everyone waiting for the inevitable hammer?

This is a huge question for the space. Many are looking at non-custodial identity solutions, but integration with existing regulatory frameworks is the hurdle. Firms are likely trying to get ahead of it now rather than later.
