Onboarding friction: time to first trade delays

asked by u/rtoth · 8d · 2 answers

Anyone else finding onboarding times with new prime brokers or even just new payment service providers (PSPs) stretching out? Used to be able to get accounts active in days, now it feels like a multi-week slog, especially for anything involving more complex entity structures. The KYC/KYB layers seem to be getting thicker. Curious if others are experiencing similar bottlenecks getting capital deployed or accepting payments promptly, and if so, how are you mitigating these delays? It's directly impacting deal velocity.

Definitely seeing that too. It's not just new setups; even simple amendments to existing accounts can take ages now. Feels like they're just pushing the compliance burden onto the client with endless document requests.

Definitely noticing this too. It feels like every year the compliance hurdle gets a little higher, and for multi-entity structures, it's a significant time sink. I've started factoring in at least a month for any new PB or PSP onboarding now.
