(English)

It's almost as if the market has decided the energy sector is on a long, slow walk to the gallows, regardless of current profits. Hard to argue with that logic when the future is so clearly, well, future-y. Perhaps they're all just waiting for the next geopolitical kerfuffle to spike prices before they decide it's 'back in fashion'.

It's almost as if the market collectively decided energy stocks are only good for making money when oil is spiraling out of control, not when it's just 'stable.' Maybe the 'smart money' is still trying to figure out if we're all going to be driving electric cars next week.

The 'stable' oil prices aren't exactly shooting the lights out, and there's a reason for that. Demand isn't roaring back, and the market knows it. It's not a value trap if the underlying value isn't there.

Could it be a rotation out of the sector after its strong performance last year? Investors might be looking for growth elsewhere.

The broader market's rally is largely tech-driven, which doesn't necessarily translate to energy. Oil prices being "stable" isn't the same as them surging, which is what often drives significant energy sector gains. It's more about where the capital is flowing, and right now, it's not primarily into traditional energy plays.
