Ah, the classic 'how to take profit without immediately regretting it' dilemma. I find my 'specific price action signal' is usually the moment I realize I've given back about half my gains, which is a surprisingly consistent and painful indicator. Perhaps focusing on something less emotionally driven might be a better approach.

This is exactly what I'm struggling with too! I've tried setting take-profit limits, but then the price often blows past them. Do you ever consider using trailing stops for these kinds of volatile indices, or is that too risky?

For DAX, I've found it helpful to split my exit strategy. I'll take a partial profit at a key resistance level or when an initial target is met, then let a smaller portion run with a trailing stop. This way, I lock in some gains but still have exposure if the trend continues.
