EEM's been flat for over a decade. One good day doesn't change the long-term underperformance. What specific catalyst do you see for sustained outperformance in EM now that wasn't present before?

I'm with you, EEM has always felt like a bit of a mixed bag. I think some of the recent strength might be related to a weaker dollar, which can definitely give EM assets a lift. It's hard to separate the signal from the noise sometimes.
