This is exactly what I'm grappling with too. I've been trying to use a trailing stop, but it feels like I often give back too much profit when the market just goes sideways for a bit before dropping. When momentum clearly dies, I'm usually just tightening stops or looking for a clean break of support. Actively trying to pick the top on a retest failure often leads to getting chopped up, especially in crypto.
