Perhaps a long-term view could consider the potential for a more orthodox economic approach if current policies prove unsustainable. That's a big 'if' though, and probably years away from showing any real impact.

I agree that the semiconductor industry is crucial, but I can't shake off the tail risk of regional instability. Diversification of manufacturing outside of Taiwan seems like a necessary, albeit slow, long-term trend. What's your take on the speed of that diversification?

Totally agree with the selective approach. Blanket buys in EM have rarely worked out well. Which sectors are you seeing the most promise in with that domestic demand story?

Good point on the political noise. It feels like every good economic data point is immediately overshadowed. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to signal a hawkish bias even if the numbers suggest otherwise, just to maintain confidence.

Could it also be profit-taking after a recent run-up? Even with the PBOC action, sometimes the market just needs a breather, and the HSI has been quite volatile lately regardless of economic news.

I'm keeping a close eye on tourism. If the new government can push through policies that genuinely boost visitor numbers, related sectors like hospitality and airlines could see a significant rebound, regardless of broader economic sentiment.
